Nina Nayak in her career spanning over 30 year has contributed to the area of child development and protection and is currently an honorary member of the Governing Council, India Law Institute, New Delhi.

Previously she has held several responsible positions such as Chairperson for Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Honorary Vice President for Indian Council for Child Welfare, New Delhi - to mention a few. She has trained several organisations across states on subjects of Child rights - protection, development and participation; Juvenile Justice System – Children in need of Care and Protection - Rehabilitation and Social Integration. She has made a number of presentations and publications on implementing and monitoring child protection services and Co-authored a Handbook that is referred to by Child Welfare Committees across the nation.

She has been a recipient of Sadguru Gnanananda National Award for social entrepreneurship and recognised for Dedication to Social Work by the Bolar Education Trust.

In a country that’s been free for 65 yrs, we still have not been able to protect the rights of our children and improve the Juvenile Justice System but Nina has been someone who has worked tirelessly towards this cause, AAP believes that with a conviction like hers, she, with the people of Bangalore can make changes for the better.
