Shivakumar Giriyappa Malagi

Shivakumar Malagi holds a masters degree in journalism and actively works in his profession for the last 8 years, but belongs to a farmer’s family. He has used the power of pen to unearth the mining scam in Bellary in close association with Sri S R Hiremath, which has resulted in probe and imprisonment of several ministers involved in wrong-doing.

Shivakumar is also active on the social front, working closely with noted anti-corruption crusader, Sri S R Hiremath who leads three major organisations - Samaj Parivartan Samudaya, Jan Sangram Parishad and the National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources.

Shivakumar is a founding day member of the Aam Aadmi Party, having participated in the launch of the party on 26 November 2012. He has worked closely with the AAP team in New Delhi on the illegal mining cases of Karnataka.

Young and energetic anti-corruption activist Shivakumar Malagi is fielded to provide an honest alternative to the mining-scam affected people of Bellary.
