Hemant Kumar is the founding member of the Kissan movement in the state of Karnataka and a prominent member of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha.
Kumar entered IIT, but soon opted out to take up the cause of farmers and suffering rural population in North Karnataka and gradually all around India. He represents the hopes and aspirations of the farmer community that is hampered and harassed by the current system.
A common man to the core, Kumar participated and campaigned for Janlokpal under the India Against Corruption movement. Having extensively worked all over India, he is a walking encyclopedia on farmer’s issues and its scientific resolutions.
