An architect by education, Sridhara is a prominent social and environmental activist. He’s actively fought the iron-ore mining lobby in Kudremukh (Western Ghats) as part of the campaign to save the sources of river Tunga (TungaMoolaUlisi). As a prominent leader of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, he’s known for his PIL on the monoculture captive plantation that spread throughout the environmentally delicate Malnad region. He’s worked with renowned anti-corruption crusader S.R. Hiremath in setting up the ‘Malenadu Jagrutha Samudaaya’ (Community for Awareness of Malnad region).
Sridhara is a protégé to two of Karnataka’s most eminent sons - farmer leader Kadidal Shamanna and noted littérateur UR Anantmurty. He lives in remote Tirthahalli as a farmer and is a noted Kannada litterateur himself.
Aam Aadmi Party is fielding Sridhara from the prestigious yet delicate Western Ghats constituency of Shimoga, to protect it from corrupt politicians and authorities involved in deforestation and destruction of the ecology of the region. His significant work on social, environmental and anti-corruption activities will make him a people’s candidate to bring power back to the people. In effect this will implement Swaraj, the desire of forefathers of this nation and the primary aim of our party.
